Lukaku’s goal saves Everton from Embarrassment at Home

A goal from Romelo Lukaku was the only consolation for Everton on Sunday in a home match against its longtime rival and neighbor, Liverpool which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Lukaku scored 46 minutes at last extra minutes of the first-half to cancel the goal scored by Ings in 41 minutes into the match.
He also scored twice last week in their match against West Brom which ended 3-2 in favour of Everton.
The 22-year-old Belgian striker had been described by his coach, Roberto Martinez as a player with the “unique strength of being the man the team needs. He has got an elite brain”.
Everton have gone nine league games without a victory against their neighbours Liverpool. They've not gone 10 games without a victory against the Reds since 1984 (a run of 11 games.
Liverpool coach, Brendan Rodgers said he was not under pressure adding, that  Liverpool is “a constant rebuilding job, whether that's me in charge or someone else.”
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers speaking to Sky Sports: "I thought that we were the better team in first half, a real threat and we deservedly took lead. I'm disappointed with the goal as it was a mistake.
"In the second half, we knew we would come under pressure and the game became counter-attacking for us. I'm proud of the players.
"The motivation of the players was very high to come here. We know we are improving with each game. We can still be better with our passing. In the second half, we didn't keep the ball well enough when we won it back.
"It is a very good point. It is a difficult place to come. We looked like we were getting better in our attack and defensively we were more cohesive.

"There's no pressure for me. My worry is for the team and you have seen a response of how they feel. This is a team which has lost four of the real catalysts and there is a constant rebuilding going on here," he stated.
